Primary Objectives

In the heart of South Africa’s Kwazulu Natal and Mpumalanga provinces, where dense forests meet the vast mining belt, lie villages and settlements often forgotten by the wider world. These communities, born from a history of labour migration and systemic oppression, now face the harsh realities of pervasive poverty and staggering unemployment.

It is here that the Zisize Villages Foundation has planted its purpose. Our objective is singular and steadfast: to turn our focus and resources toward these isolated villages, to listen to their stories, and to partner in building pathways out of hardship. We believe that within these communities resides profound resilience and untapped potential.

Empower Local Community

Provide educational resources and training programs that equip community members with skills necessary for sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Foster Economic Development

Support economic growth through the establishment of cooperatives and small businesses that create job opportunities and stimulate local economies.

Advance Health and Welll-Being

Improve access to healthcare, clean water, and sanitation services to enhance the overall health and quality of life in the communities we serve.

Enhance Food Security

Promote sustainable agricultural practices that improve food production, nutrition, and food sovereignty within rural communities.

Promote Environmental Stewardship

Implement conservation projects and sustainable land management practices that protect natural resources and enhance biodiversity.

Sustainability and Advocacy

To organize community members into a collective voice to advocate for their own rights and needs with local government or other stakeholders.
